The Al Wakrah Bypass consists of an 11km south-north freeway with five interchanges. The project connects with the East-West Corridor in the north and Qatar Economic Zone 3 in the south intersecting the Wukair Road and Mesaieed Road.
The main road consists of a 10-lane section with additional Collectors/Distributor roads, frontage roads, and ramps; it also has a provision for future addition of two more lanes in each direction.
When completed, the freeway will provide access to the existing and planned developments via the five proposed interchanges, a major tunnel crossing, and two pedestrian/bicycle overpasses.
MECTON Troy Engineering has been appointed by Larsen & Toubro Ltd. to provide Turn-key Construction of the TSE Network for the project.
The network consists of :
- 55,000 km DI, GRP, HDPE, UPVC Pipeline (Ø250 mm – Ø1400 mm)
- 349 numbers of various valve chambers
